Dylan Webster

Breviloquent

They say to brandish yourself like lightning
To splash onto the frontpage
Speak your truth and let your song be sung

But loquacious though you may be
You remain unseen & unheard

Inconsequential as your throat grows red
With didactic reflux
Within despair however
You may find your terse truth

& recognize the power
Of blunt pithiness

Maybe you won’t flash
Like the electric explosions
But thunder rattles
The earth—
