Nutritional Perversion

Promotional deception
Is embedded in mundane patterns
Where genuine choice no longer
Bathes in individualised actions.
For nutrition is commodified
When eager masses conform
To overconsumption;
A norm deeply engrained
In the collective psyche.
But dubiety is forgone
When marketing commands more power
From wealthy worlds of stratification
Where some may only dream of choice
Until the acquisition of basic nutriment
Becomes a maelstrom
Of human disarray.
