Coronavirus: Travel In The Pandemic

A Poem by John F. McMullen

 I may have violated
 the CDC warnings
 on holiday travel as
 I went to:
            the snows of Aspen
                           to
            the heat of Acapulco
                          then to
the monsoons of the South China Sea
                          and finally to
the mud and rice paddies of Vietnam
where I thought on this Christmas Day
of the tragedies of fifty-plus years ago
And I did it all on one day
 Christmas Eve 2020
 without ever leaving
 Jefferson Valley New York
 The day that Climate Change
 came to my house
